We have curated these digital courses for individuals, educators, and leaders who are ready to engage in the hard work and heart-work of understanding racism and uprooting racism in order to facilitate true change internally and externally.

There are six professionally produced video modules within the Bowman Global: Racial Justice and Unity training series. Each module is independent and includes highly interactive teaching, as well as a participant workbook which contains reflection, individual, small group and large group activities and resources. Delivery:
Our training is delivered over the course of two sessions. Each session is 4.5 hours. This includes 4 hours of content and a lunch break each day.
Participants will virtually attend both sessions for a total of 8 hours of training plus 1 hour for breaks (30mins each session).

I had a positive experience participating in the Uprooting Racism Training with Bowman Global. April, Blessing and Julie brought their full selves to the training session, and I can tell that they have worked hard in their own personal and collective journeys against racism and towards racial justice. April was a good facilitator and moderator; she acknowledged and valued participants’ comments but never put anybody on the spot. I appreciated that I was not forced to over-share or work up any certain emotion during the sessions. This was both the most meaningful zoom meeting I have ever attended and one of the most effective school trainings I have participated in. It gave me hope and determination for my own growth. I found it powerful how April structured the dialog in the training to allow for everyone’s personal stories while being direct and unwavering about anti-blackness. School trainings that I have attended in the past have always cloaked discussions of racism in distracting code words or problematic labels. Racism is woven into every fiber of US history and present and I am glad that there was no space allowed to debate or question this. The space to contribute was to think of your own role and story in connection to this wider history. It is a beautiful, effective strategy to invite people into this work.
I found it incredibly useful to see how to model moments of awakening, especially for white people. I think modeling this practice of humility allows people to alchemize their embarrassment or shame and use it as a teaching tool for others.
As a white person, I can get distracted trying to prove what I know about racism instead of doing the harder work of developing my humility and desire to be correctable and grow. I want to commit to sharing my moments of awakening with the school community so we are a group that has the ego strength and desire to be corrected.

During our Coaching, participants are welcome to ask questions to the Bowman Global team, talk through specific scenarios, practice applying a racial equity lens and continue to process the deep work of anti-racism in a safe, judgement free environment alongside others who are invested in growing.
There are two-time options to accommodate various schedules. Sessions will occur over Zoom video conferencing. Sessions are 1.5 hours. Participants are welcome to drop in anytime during the Coaching session or engage the full duration.
